Hey Parents,
We want to let you know each month what is
happening in each clogging class so you are informed and if you desire and
assist your child in their learning. Each class is listed below and we hope if
you have any questions, you'll feel welcome in letting us know.
Premiere:
Premiere is
working on a lot right now! They
finished reviewing the Pro Line and Show Solos, and have started learning the
Pro Challenge Solo (which is a bear!)
One of their requirements is that they must do some kind of duet during
the year, and TODAY is when they should know WHO they're doing that duet
with! We are learning our new
Exhibition, relearning Formation Line, and lining up Precision with our new
dancers.
Sensations:
Sensations
finished learning the Pro Line solo and now are working on the Pro Challenge
solo. They have an assignment this month
to learn the SHOW solo at home on their own.
It will be due on October 21st!
We are also learning a new show routine, and are concurrently relearning
our standing line. Sensations girls will
be trying on costumes this week and next after class.
FX:
FX finished the
Championship Show Solo! They should be
practicing it with their DVD at home! we are also about 1/3 through our new line dance. It's got some hard stuff, but I need you to
make sure your dancers are practicing the steps at home! Each week we spend much more time reviewing
than I would like, and we need to get going faster on it! So if you could help in that way, I'd
appreciate it! We are also going to
start another solo as well in the next week.
Lightning:
Lightning finished
the Advanced Line Solo, and has learned half of the Advanced Show Solo. Please make sure they are practicing those
with their DVD at home! They are doing
well with their new dance and are about halfway through.
Power:
We just finished
the Champ Show Solo and the new Traditional Line dance. We started their new
Standing Line routine too. It's going to be a year of line dances! Whoo Hoo! Watch out because we
are learning a
Storm:
We are almost finished with the Champ Show
Solo and we need lots of practice as it is really hard and new for many of us.
We also are working on Traditional line as well as starting our dance to Mercy.
it's going to be a great year with a
Unlimited:
Just finished Traditional Line and are now
moving onto Express Yourself. Just wait till you see all the new things in this
dance. Going to make those toenails sore for a while....
Dynamite:
Working on the
Intermediate Solo. We are working on our new dance too. This class is
focusing on busy steps and new arm steps. It takes lots of practice to master
the arm steps.
Extreme:
We are almost done with the Advanced Line
Solo. They work so well and are advancing so quickly. We have also started
their new dance to the Jonas brothers Paranoid (which makes all the girls so
excited). We are working hop doubles and the new steps in our dance.
Stompers:
We are working on the Advanced Line Solo. it's tough with new double doubles. We decided to take the
plunge and be an advanced team this year. It means lots of new steps and
styles. We are working on Freestyle this month. We also just started our new
dance to Living in American. This team is working on Canadians, and hop
doubles.
Hot Shots:
For September Hot
Shots started the Intermediate Line solo. We've learned the first three steps,
but they are pretty hard so practice practice practice! Everyone received a student All-Around Solos DVD
at the beginning of the year. The line solo is the first one on the DVD and you
can watch it being taught or watch someone dance it while you dance it with
them. We also started learning our first team dance, "Dance Me if You Can". We have learned about 1/3 of the dance and
hopefully we will finish it by November! Thanks for working so hard! Keep
practicing!!!
Razzmatazz:
We have started
learning our dance and are about 1/3 done. We are also working on freestyle
each week. We should finish our dance in October. At home everyone should be practicing the
dance and practicing their steps for freestyle.
Minis:
we are working on
our first dance. We are about halfway done and they are all learning so quick! At home they should be practicing their dance.
Kickers:
We are working on
the show solo and have one more step to go in that. We have also started
working on our team dance which I am excited about. Everyone is doing so well, they should be practicing the solo and the steps we
learn in the dance at home. Keep up the great work :)
Advanced Adult Team.
Learning new
steps, starting on the Advanced Line Solo, and beginning their new dance
Stars:
They just switched teachers and the class
is getting so large, we will be splitting it soon! It's going great and
everyone is so excited. Wait until you see all their new dances and smiles.
They will have more information next month as the class becomes settled. For
now, keep practicing your chugs, double steps, singles, fancy doubles and
grapevines.
